This role is essential to shaping the future of our accounting solutions at TownSq, ensuring we deliver customer‑centric, scalable, and high‑impact experiences. You will lead initiatives that play a critical role in our long‑term product strategy. As a Product Manager, you will own initiatives from discovery through delivery, collaborating closely with cross‑functional partners across product, engineering, design, operations, and business teams. This position reports directly to a Product Lead. This role will be hybrid and employee must be local to the Dallas/Ft Worth metro area. Will be onsite occasionally at our Richardson, TX location. Responsibilities Leadership & Ownership Demonstrate strong ownership by proactively identifying problems, proposing solutions, and ensuring follow‑through. Drive initiatives end‑to‑end — from discovery to launch to iterative improvement — with moderate supervision. Make informed decisions about short‑ and medium‑term priorities using data, customer insights, and business context. Lead discussions with cross‑functional stakeholders, clearly presenting trade‑offs, expected outcomes, and rationale. Product Development Define, refine, and prioritize product features in close collaboration with the Product Lead. Maintain and evolve the product backlog, ensuring clarity and alignment across teams. Oversee delivery milestones, ensuring high‑quality outputs at each stage of the roadmap. Partner effectively with engineering, design, product marketing, client success, operations, training, implementation and sales teams. Research & Discovery Conduct user interviews, research, and discovery sessions to identify pain points and opportunities. Analyze market trends and competitive offerings to inform product strategy. Develop hypotheses and validate them through structured experimentation and cross‑team collaboration. Data, Insights & Reporting Monitor and analyze KPIs and performance metrics to drive decision‑making. Use both quantitative and qualitative insights to shape and influence the roadmap. Prepare clear reports and presentations to provide visibility for leadership and key stakeholders. Documentation & Communication Write detailed requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria. Keep product documentation (e.g., Jira, Confluence) updated and accessible. Communicate priorities, trade‑offs, and timelines clearly across teams — including international and cross‑time‑zone partners. Requirements Requirements Education Bachelor’s degree preferred in Accounting, Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field. Equivalent professional experience in accounting and product‑related roles may substitute for formal education in these areas. Experience 2+ years of experience working in accounting (Fund Accounting, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Budgeting, Bank Reconciliation, Financial Reporting), with direct or indirect contributions to product development. Examples may include: identifying product gaps, proposing improvements, supporting feature definition, or collaborating with product/engineering teams. Experience in product management, business analysis, or a related role. Experience working with international or offshore teams across time zones. Technical Knowledge Familiarity with product management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence). Understanding of UX/UI fundamentals and effective collaboration with design teams. Experience with analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Pendo). Must Have At least 2 years of accounting experience directly tied to product improvement or product decision‑making. Evidence of concrete contributions to financial product development (direct or indirect). Nice to Have Experience in the community management industry. Familiarity with accounting systems such as C3, Yardi, AppFolio, Caliber and Vantaca. Cultural Fit (TownSq Values) Focus on the Customer: Understand and champion customer needs in every decision. Be Bold: Embrace challenges and bring forward innovative ideas. Strive for Excellence: Pursue continuous improvement and high‑quality standards. Do the Right Thing: Act with integrity, responsibility, and transparency. Build Together: Collaborate effectively and value diverse perspectives. Personal Attributes Strong sense of ownership and accountability for outcomes. High resilience, organization, and adaptability. Strong, proactive communication with internal and external partners. Analytical mindset and structured problem‑solving approach. Ability to operate effectively under aggressive delivery timelines, maintaining high‑quality standards even when facing pressure or fast‑paced demands. Openness to learn and humility to teach, fostering a collaborative, growth‑oriented environment.
